Cooperation Between the City Council and the School Board
As an employee and long-time volunteer in the Dublin Unified School District, I have been in a unique position to help facilitate increased communication between the City Council and the school board. These last few years have seen, at times acrimonious communications between our city’s elected bodies. One of my priorities remains keeping the City Council and the School Board working collaboratively to ensure that we have enough school capacity at ALL levels for the students who are currently here as well as any new students who come to Dublin. While ultimately school facilities and school capacity are a DUSD issue, many of the decisions the City Council makes have tremendous impact on our schools. My relationships with the members of the School Board and staff members of Dublin Unified School District helps tone down some of the negative rhetoric we have seen over the last five year and helps open lines of communication between the city and the school district.
