During her time on Dublin City Council, Jean has championed fiscal and environmental sustainability; the move towards a vibrant downtown Dublin; public safety; transportation solutions; and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Jean has worked to balance the need for more affordable housing with the need to preserve open space. She helped design parks that are responsive to the recreation interests of Dublin’s changing demographics. She proposed and passed policies that reduce the plastics waste in Dublin. She helped lead the charge for safer gun storage and free trigger locks for Dublin residents, because even one accidental shooting is one too many. Finally, Jean has been the leader on the Dublin Council in doing the hard work towards making sure Dublin is as inclusive as it is diverse.

During this COVID crisis, which dominated her first term, Jean and the rest of Dublin Council supported our local businesses with over $2 million in grants and loans, and provided rental assistant to many Dublin residents who might otherwise lose their homes. But the Council also did more than give away money. They worked with our small businesses to help them pivot their business models to survive the ever-changing health orders, and rewrote ordinances to allow more outdoor dining. They sponsored contests and promotions to drive traffic to Dublin businesses. The actions Jean and the rest of council took ensured that the maximum number of Dublin businesses were able to stay operational and Dublin residents were able to stay in their homes.
During her second term, Jean's focus shifted to the long-term stability of the City of Dublin. Jean's emphasis has been on creating the business environment that will sustain Dublin for decades to come. Creating our downtown and our Fallon East economic development zone will not only give residents exciting shopping, dining, and good-paying job opportunities, but it will diversify Dublin's tax revenues. Jean's additional focus on building our specific reserves for the long-term maintenance of the beautiful facilities we have built in the last two decades will ensure that Dublin stays the gem of the Tri-Valley that it is today.
